Showing Integrity
The reality of a job as a health care professional lies in integrity and solidarity towards the profession and delivery of the same. This comes from hindsight, while dealing with patients. Along with the need to be sensitive towards their medical requirements, it is very essential to show integrity and stand up for what is correct ethically. As part of the health care community, as a professional, you will have to deal with inflicting pain during treatment and this is one unpleasant reality of the vocation.
However, there is no scope to indulge in thoughtlessness or indifference, making a distressing situation even worse. Sensitive patient satisfaction is very important. Many a times there are patients who don't declare, but need more help than the medicine cabinet can ever provide. As a health care professional, it is ones responsibility to identify the need and guarantee respite, no matter what. In fact, the way a patient walks into the waiting room, and his or experience of surrounding discomfort and depression due to mental or physical trauma speaks a lot about the case.
It is expected of you to respond with patients beyond the feeling that they are just occupied chairs or beds and be a little attentive at the reception desk. The patient's first and last impression about the health care center and professionals is something that he or she keeps close to the heart and expression even during the treatment. There has to be a show of integrity when dealing with patients. You need to also monitor and constantly educate and upgrade associated staff about the value of integrity and solidarity. They need to be able to deal with different types of ailments and situations with the same attitude.

As a health care professional it is very important to consider the nuances of the job rather than grumble at inconvenience. It is also very important that you understand and consistently remind yourself that you chose the profession, it did not choose you. To be able to pay respect to age and show genuine caring towards a child should come well within your paradigms of work. As a health care professional, it is also important to reach beyond the call of duty, remembering that health care is not confined to the walls of the health care center.
Most patients get better with the right attitude rather than the medication. This is one reason why it is noticed among the patient community that they tend to revisit certain health care professionals and centers only because of the attitude of the staff. Patient identification and information should always be confidential. In fact, in certain sensitive cases, this is exactly the point of anticipation. From the time a patient arrives to the time treatment is generated according to the case, you need to ensure that support staff takes care of their information at arrival via a way that is less public. Patients look forward to being treated as more than just ward numbers or beds. A little integrity goes a long way.
